With a racing career that began at age 5, Tommy McCarthy holds championships in major racing disciplines including karting, pavement ovals, dirt tracks and road course events. In 2008 at the age of 9, he was the recipient of the MotorSports Press Association “Rising Star Award”,  and since then has claimed 32 championships and set numerous track records.

As a child, Tommy won against adults at the early age of 14. In 2013, he was the youngest entrant in events organized by the National Auto Sports Association (NASA) and the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), and still to this day he wins against competitors more than twice his age. Tommy has won over 700 amateur races, including 7 National Championships in QMA, sweeping USAC events, winning the SCCA Spec Miata Championship 4 times, and getting podium finishes in his first two Touring Car America races. Coming up in the Spring of 2023, Tommy will be racing in the SRO Toyota GR Cup series.

On and off the track, Tommy gives back to his local Bay Area community by supporting non-profits on the track, and has created Tommy McCarthy Racing to continue his passion. Tommy is currently getting his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University.
