With a racing career that began at age 5, Tommy McCarthy holds championships in major racing disciplines including karting, pavement ovals, dirt tracks and road course events. In 2008 at the age of 9, he was the recipient of the MotorSports Press Association “Rising Star Award”, and since then has claimed 32 championships and set numerous track records. As a child, Tommy raced against adults at the age of 14, he was the youngest entrant in an event organized by the National Auto Sports Association in 2013, and still to this day he races against competitors twice his age.
Tommy has won over 700 amateur races, including 7 National Championships in QMA, sweeping USAC events, winning the SCCA Spec Miata Championship 4 times, and getting podium finishes in his first two Touring Car America races. On and off the track, Tommy has been consistently involved in his local Bay Area community by supporting non-profits and volunteering at SCCA driving school. Tommy is currently getting his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University.
